Folsom Mugs
Folsom Mugs
Folsom Lake clay, paper
2017

CONCEPT Folsom Mugs used ceramic vessels found at the bottom of the drought dried reservoir, remnants from the town destroyed to create the reservoir, as characters and research conducted with the Folsom Historical Society to explore the California drought and the archival properties of clay. The piece is made from clay gathered at the site that was turned into slip and silkscreened onto the wall. This work was paired with CCA Ceramics colleague Erik Scollon's two ceramic stools, creating an installation that turned visitors into seated performers who were asked to read the story as a script.

FORMAT Silkscreened clay from the bottom of Folsom Lake on watercolor paper.
