I am Joshua Hagler's new assistant!
As of Monday I have become Josh Hagler's assistant. As a painter and illustrator, Josh needed to hire someone to take care of administrative tasks while he makes work. He is a wonderful artist and I invite you to look at his work at Joshua Hagler and updates on his blog.

The (de)Appropriation Project - Bruce Tomb
www.deappropriationproject.net is the third archive of the (de)Appropriation Project: the continuing documentation of a wall fronting the jail cells of the former Mission Police Station at 1240 Valencia Street, San Francisco.
I was able to help Bruce Tomb create and install pieces for this project at Southern Exposure. This is a wonderful project and I highly recommend visiting the website.

Southern Exposure's Monster Drawing Rally

I was away for the rally this year so I made an IOU. The text is copied below and images of the actual IOU can be seen in my photo section.

"Today from 8-9 pm I, Kari Marboe, will be drawing from an alternative site for Southern Exposure’s Monster Drawing Rally. The location is For-Site, a foundation located in Nevada City whose aim is to promote an understanding of art that is about place. I am currently there researching land art with a workshop created by Nathan Lynch at California College of the Arts. My fellow classmates, Nathan and I will all be making drawings together. By purchasing this IUO, you will receive by mail all of the drawings we make. That’s eleven drawings for the price of one!! All you need to do is buy this piece, write your address on the attached card, mail it and wait for the magic of art to fill your heart and wall space."

This was a wonderful experience and I hope to participate in the event again (in person this time).
Information about the rally can be seen at Southern Exposure.
